This tattoo was first seen on April 11th, 2012, when Johnny and Marilyn Manson were performing at the Golden Gods awards. It resembles the Harley Davidson Skeleton(Skull) keys (see on the right), just a bit more “antique” and skeleton key like. Damien Echols from the West Memphis 3 got the same. I started my apprenticeship in September 2008 and got licensed in September 2009. Throughout my career, I have always tattooed in the downtown Nashville area.I have drawn all my life and I wanted to pick up a job that required art. Tattooing caught my eye at the age of 12. My cousin’s wife, who has modeled for a few tattoo magazines due to her work, inspired much of my desire to tattoo. I remember trying to replicate tattoos out of magazines.

Can you elaborate on that a little more?

A buddy of mine that I grew up with got an apprenticeship in Clarksville, TN. That same guy had a shop in Nashville and after meeting the owner, he enjoyed my art and personality enough that he offered me a job. I owe the most to my mentor, Jay Quarles, who tattoos in Nashville as well.

Are there any tattoo styles that you prefer to do or excel in?

I have always been around realism and gray wash because of my mentor’s, Jay Quarles, talent in portraits. After gaining my own confidence, I myself have decided to focus on a more traditional approach and have continued to modify it into a neo-traditional style. Realism and gray wash continue to be my foundation. Script has also become a huge practice of mine.
